Packin It Up

I just packed up all of stuff into my suitcase and carry on. Everything fit, thank God! I do have to wear my sneakers and winter coat home though, but that shouldn't be a big problem. I always worry about the suitcase being too heavy. My new method is to pack all the heavy things - blazers, heels, dress pants, sweaters in my carry on suitcase, since there's no weight limit for that. Sneaky, right?! Then the bigger suitcase is just filled with underwear, shirts, and lighter things. And all the liquids.

I'm fairly certain flying home tomorrow I will be bringing an extra 5 pounds of bath products. Since I've been home, I have stayed at 8 different hotels, each of which gave me a shampoo, conditioner and soap. Some had mouth wash, lotion, face wash, and shower caps. Of course I took them all! Sometimes the hotel replaced them for me mid stay. I took those too. We paid for them! And some of them are really good. I have three sets of Bath and Body Works products and another from Crab Tree& Evelyn. Not cheap! I plan on keeping some but then donating the others to our local food pantry. When I volunteered there, other people had donated the little soaps and I would tuck matching sets into peoples' grocery bags. A nice little surprise!

Check out my stash from just the past two weeks:

  1. i was just going to suggest that! I was thinking in my head, if she's getting all this shampoo that she'll never need completely, why don't you donate it? Small shampoo like that is perfect for someone else who may not be as fortunate! :o) but clearly, we think alike. I'm proud of you!
