Ever since I started traveling, I've been reading a lot of other people's reviews of hotels and restaurants. I often find nearby restaurants in my GPS and then Google search them on my phone to take at look at menus and reviews. I know I say this all the time, but I'm always so amazed by the technology we have at our fingertips! I wish more people took advantage of the resources out there.
Today I ate at an incredible restaurant, Texas Steakhouse. (Not to be confused with Texas Roadhouse.) The food was good but the service was some of the best I have ever received. Fortunately, after four full weeks, eating alone is getting less and less weird. I'll admit I do take a deep breath to brace myself every time I got into a restaurant. A perk I've noticed though is that you pretty much get great service when you eat alone in dine-in restaurants. I think part of it may be that the staff feels bad for you, but also, dining alone your total bill will be less, and therefore a 15-20% tip will be significantly less. I always try to tip really well when dining alone because it's just as much work to keep running over to my table as it would be if I was with another person. Anyways, Keith, my fantastic waiter tonight waited on me hand and foot, had a great personality, was super friendly, and was cute to top it off. He boxed up my food and and when I was leaving he handed me a diet coke in a to-go cup, so I could have a full meal later on. How nice! No other restaurant has ever done that for me! Two thumbs up to Texas Steakhouse in Morrisville, NC.
Anyways, I was so impressed with my whole experience, I decided to write an online review about it. Normally I only write reviews for hotels, but since I read online reviews to find this particular restaurant, I thought I'd give back. So far I have reviewed every hotel I've stayed at except one. It was one of the one night Florida hotels though I don't even remember which one - the main reason I didn't rate it to begin with!
I think I should wear a sign telling people I review things, or maybe leave a little card behind. "BAM! You've been reviewed!" That'd be kinda fun...
"Bam you've been reviewed??"" lol sounds like you could make it a candid camera tv show! Have like 5 actors go to a restaurant at different times. One be really obnoxious and send everything back, another with a crying baby, another that is the perfect customer. See how service is different... and then leave behind your mark after fully rating it. lol.
